Day of Sorts

It was a day of sorts,
She was hurt,
She cried that day,
Her sadness overwhelming.

It was a day of sorts,
He watched her cry,
His heart broke,
So held her.

It was a day of sorts,
She held onto him for sanity,
When nightmares threatened to take over
He brought her back to him.

It was a day of sorts,
Bottle of pills on the floor,
A goodbye letter stuck to the door
And two lovers in an embrace,
A life had been saved that day

I wish I had the gift of writing poetry, I have tried and failed dismally.

Poetry has evolved. It’s no longer the roses are red kinda stuff. It’s always changing and that’s the best part about it. You can check out what other poets do and learn from them. You will pick up a lot of different styles. 😊
